Lauren Dixon knows how to shoot a rifle. She writes lingerie catalogs for the Army, talks a lot about vaginas, and does not eat animals unless they ask her to first. Someday she’d like to be a guru, but first she has to figure out this writing thing.

Her creative work will soon appear in Scape, and has appeared in Oracle, DIAGRAM, Sojourn, INTER, Kadar Koli and (R)evolve (from Naropa U’s Summer Writing Program), and was previously nominated for the Best New Poets of 2006 Anthology, published by Meridian. A Clarion West 2010 graduate, Dixon edits the literary ‘zine Superficial Flesh and has appeared as a featured reader in Word Space’s Writers in the Universities series and Sojourn’s Word Up! series. Dixon teaches creative writing and literature at Collin College in Plano, TX. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing-Poetry from Texas State University in San Marcos.
